Hi

Hi, Thanks for dropping by.

My name is Eileen but to friends in the card making world I'm known as 'ikki'. (which is pronounced I-KEY) From where or how this came about I'm not sure - it just got shorten from my original craft name of Ikemo by various friends along my crafting way! I started crafting whilst recouperating from an accident, and from my first attempts with peeloffs and paint - I was hooked! Now my passion is my BUG! and now BEADING!

In the Cupboard you will find ideas, news, tips and techniques to help you get more from this fab little machine. So come in - join the fun and Cuttle with me!

Thoughts on Tuesday - 23rd February 2010

To invent, you need a good imagination and a pile of junk.

Well Mr. Edison we have to thank you for your wonderful inventions. - for giving us the light to see.  As crafters we too want to invent, so we need imagination and we defo need that pile of junk.... the different is we call it STASH!

To test out this theory - take a man into your craftroom and ask him. Like Mr. Edison he will see JUNK (or LITTER) because Man is from Mars, but Woman are from Venus and we can only see STASH and want more!  Take for example, last night I ordered another 6l Promarkers - my imagination says I need them.  Mr Olly says I only need 3 colours and I can then make any colour.  Tell me who is right?  Of course, I'm only asking this question after ordering and paying for them - I'm not daft!!

Well I'v got the pile of junk, so I'm 50% of the way there!!
You and Mr. Olly are both right - depends what you're working with.
Copics, Promarkers, any type of Pastels, there are never enough colours, shades or tones. Distress Inks, watercolours etc. three should be enough - with these you can mix any shade, colour, tone imaginable.
That's my thought for today Eileen,
take care, loads of hugs Heather xx

I have the same pile of junk Eileen!

Well done on your new purchase of Promarkers, you can never have enough colours.

Monet only used 5 colours for all of his Giverney years you know. I like to think that was because Letraset hadn't quite developed the 3 squillion PMs that you now need!
