Hi

Hi, Thanks for dropping by.

My name is Eileen but to friends in the card making world I'm known as 'ikki'. (which is pronounced I-KEY) From where or how this came about I'm not sure - it just got shorten from my original craft name of Ikemo by various friends along my crafting way! I started crafting whilst recouperating from an accident, and from my first attempts with peeloffs and paint - I was hooked! Now my passion is my BUG! and now BEADING!

In the Cupboard you will find ideas, news, tips and techniques to help you get more from this fab little machine. So come in - join the fun and Cuttle with me!

Friday's Followers Gallery

The card I'm putting in my FFG today is this lovely artwork from
Eileen showing great use of a circle die to create a moon!

As well as some super stamping and a great layout,
Eileen has used a brayer to create her background, an art that she has perfected.
If you pop over to her blog  you will find some delightful work.
Thanks Eileen for allowing me of show off your fab card.

Friday Followers Gallery

A couple of weeks ago, Glenda over on the new Chocolate Baroque Design Team Blog offered two free download papers.  Today I wanted to show you a card made with these papers by Shaz. which I'm going to put in todays FFG.  The papers are still available to download - pop over the the CBDT Blog from the link on my sidebar to pick yours up.

Lovely card Shaz, and thanks so much for sharing your ideas with us.  You do some amazing work and your downunder blog is a pleasure to visit.

On the subject of Chocolate Baroque (formally known as Elusive Images), I have been asked by Jo-jo if  the stamps of EI are still available.  The answer is yes they are still obtainable, and once Glenda has overcome the assault course of the trails and tribulations of setting up a web site you will be able to purchase them from Chocolate Baroque.   Hopefully it will not be too long, which is exciting because the DT are working with new stamps as we speak!

Friday's Followers' Gallery

The card today has been made by Val known to many as Aquarius.

The way Val has used two dies to make the frame and emboss both at the same time is a new idea to me.  She has managed to emboss both edges of the frame which I think looks great.    I couldn't work this out, so as I encourage you to do, I asked and this is how it is achieved:

It's actually very like my tutorial yesterday on making photo corners, but instead of  embossing freehand, Val embossed both pieces in the Bug.

I also love the way the ribbon wraps round the frame giving  another different take.  Great card, Val!  Thanks  for sharing your idea with us, and I pleased  to put your card in the Follwers Gallery.

Why not pop over and say hello to Val, she is a very talented crafter with a very interesting blog, and if you are a lover of Elusive Images - you will also find that Val is too!

Followers Gallery

Friday and it's time to showcase my Followers' Gallery. The card I have selected today is by Tracy from Scrapcatssscribbles.  Dies of all shapes lend themselve to easel cards and this one is real cute using plain and scallop circles.  The image is also a cutie by Lili Of The Valley and reminds me of being a child - "he loves, he loves me not" - I'm sure many of us have played this game!  Pop over to Tracy's blog and have a look at her other work, it's always good to make new crafting friends.

Thanks Tracy for supporting the Cupboard and welcome to the FFG.  Please send your fairy over here to blow some lucky fairy dust my way!

Friday Followers Gallery

I recently posted a tutorial on how you can extend square or rectangle dies to accommodate your stamps, and I was really pleased when I had a message from Max saying that she found this idea useful and had use the technique successfully.

This is Max's super card which I'm putting into my Followers Gallery, it is actually her second card to appear there.  Drop by and see her work - you will not be disappointed.

Thanks Max for trying this, you worked the idea well!

Today in my FFG I'm doing something different - 2 cards.  Both cards were made by Ann and illustrate how the same idea can look totally different by changing the colours.

You can read Ann's post here

change the colour - change the look!

A different take on the same idea and well worth a read.

Ann your cards are great, and something I have never seen done before and I'm sure others won't have either.  Thanks for allowing me to put your work in my FFG.

If you have card that you think is different and would like to share with us, pleased get in touch with me.

Impressabilities - Episode 4

Before I reveal my latest success with the Impressabilitie die, I thought I should show you this card made by my Cuttlebug mate Chrissie.

Chrissie has used to great effect a method of embossing call Letterpressing where you ink the stencil and then emboss it.
Pop over to Chrissie's and view the work of a very talented crafter and since it's Friday and Followers Gallery time, I'm real pleased to put this card in my gallery.  Thanks Chrissie.

If you would like to see more of this technique check out this link:  http://stamptv.ning.com/video/letterpress-with

TIP:   Dye (Momento/Adirondack) inks are waterbased and easier to clean from the stencil. It also dries straight away on your card, with pigment ink you will need to wait for it to dry on your image before you can use it.

Final episode tomorrow......think you have all be patient enough!

Friday's Followers Gallery

Good morning, today is Friday and it's Follower's Gallery time!

The card going into the gallery today is another beauty!  Although Eileen says I'm to blame for her spending lots on money on folders and dies, I have to say that her spends have been well worthwhile if this is an example of her crafting!  So I won't say anything, but WELL DONE!

The Sylized Flower folder has always been a favourite of mine and embosses really well on white cardstock.  It can be coloured with chalk or glitter, but for me plain is classic elegance and with the colours from the Big and Juice Ink Pad range that Eileen has used on the flower and butterfly dies - stunning result!  Pop over and see details of how she achieved this, you will not be disappointed.
Thanks Eileen for your supporting the Cupboard and for sharing your work with us.

Friday - It's Followers Gallery time!

I'm absolutely delighted that my blog is proving popular all over the world, so today the card that I'm putting into my Followers gallery was created by Jocelyn who lives in Melbourne, Australia.  Jocelyn (aka JoBear2)
has recently made the decision to start her own blog....so why not pop over there and give your support to our Australia friend.  You'll not be disappointed for JoBear2 is a talented crafter, and it good to see how others from different countries used the same tools, and we all need new ideas and inspiration to keep our crafting fresh.  Welcome to the Cupboard Jocelyn, and it's a pleasure to have your card in my Followers Gallery.

I thought this a lovely fitting card for a difficult occasion  - thanks for sharing Jocelyn and for supporting the  Cupboard.

If you have a card that you would like to have in the FFG - please leave me a message. There are two conditions for entry - your card must follow the Cupboard principles of always incorporating embossing or die cutting in your crafting and you must be a follower of the Cupboard.      Look forward to hearing from you.

Cuttlebug Embossing and Nestabilities Squares

How nice to be able to make a card for a lovely lady celebrating her 90th Birthday!

I do seem to have a tendency to use the Swiss Dots folder, but it lends itself to so many images and creates that simplicity and classy look that I like.  On this card I've also used the Vintage corners and the numbers from the Harmony alphabet.  When die cutting small objects I place double sided tape on the underside of my piece of card and the die face down on top.  Once cut this make attaching the pieces much easier.  The image is a digi from Chris Dark's collection.

NB:
I've had a number of questions about my Friday Followers Gallery.  There are only two conditions for entry.

1: In this blog I only illustrate cards using die cutting or embossing techniques,  this is the same for the FFG.
2: You must be a follower of the Cupboard.

If you have a card that you would like to share with fellow cuttlers, please leave me a comment and a link and I will get back to you.  It's that easy.

Friday's Followers Gallery

Today the card I'm putting into the FG is actually a picture of 6 cards. They are the result of teamwork, guts and determination and I think there's also a lot of love about!

Some of you may have seen these cards on Paula's Paper Playground, and will know of Paula's recent op and the trauma of the last few months.  When I saw her directing operations from behind the camera, it made me happy to think that working together was getting them through a very tough time!  I know you will all send them your best wishes.

here are the cards
and here is Cuttler hubby Darren, nicely captured on film by Camera Director Paula.  Nice Cuttling Darren, you are my Cuttler of the Week.    Best wishes to you both.

Friday - Followers' Gallery

Sorry I missed my Tippy Thursday post, but I had a late offer of a lift to the NEC Craft fair and how could I resist.  Wow, what a day!  Tiring but some super crafting goodies on offer -watch this space - I was tempted to buy!  I cannot wait to get crafting - new stamps and things certainly give that feeling good factor.

Today, I want to show you a card that I found when visiting a Cupboard follower.   Max left me a comment  - so I popped over there and this is what I found.

Great card Max,  love the way you have used the Happy Birthday folder, your stamping, layout, and card style is fab.  Thanks for sharing and I'm real pleased to add your card to the Gallery.

Friday Followers' Gallery

Hi, it's Friday Followers' Gallery time....this week the card going into the gallery is from Chrissie.

Chrissie is a great Cuttler and comes up with some super ideas. The way she has used this heart die is very creative and I hope will inspire you to look at your dies in a different way. I'm very fortunately in having such a talented crafter as a friend - that's one of the things about blogging you do meet some lovely peeps. Give Chrissie a visit you'll not be disappointed - at the moment she is doing some super slider cards.
Thanks Chrissie for sharing, and allowing your card to go in my Followers' Gallery.

Friday - Followers' Gallery

Today's card that is going into the FFG is from Joe.

Joe recently joined the Cupboard followers  -  from her lovely work you will see that she loves her bug.  Joe is also a  member of DC and you will find her gallery under JoeD.  Drop by and say hello you will find some interesting crafting going on there.

When I found this card on her blog, it reminded me of a exhibition I saw last October in Ripon Cathedral. The artist (whose name at the moment I cannot recall) had used numerous folders and emboss them in metal squares to make a frame round a quotation - it was very impressive and at the time I thought I should use that idea, but then forgot, so I was pleased to see Joe had done it for me. Thanks Joe for sharing your idea in the Cupboard.

Cuttlebug Cupboard - Follower's Gallery

Well here we are at Follower's Friday again!  How time flys when you're having fun with PC's and Snow!

Today's card in the gallery is from Rica. Heather is an old blogging friend, and a very talented crafter. She always says she struggles with just White cards, but not with this one - Girl, you did real good! Drop by and see some more of her work - you will not be disappointed.

Not only is the colouring superb, but what creative use of the Fleur de lis Pendant die....

By twisting the pendant and then adding 4 of the smaller dies to each corner - you have a larger square! Nice one Heather - good thinking!
