Hi here, you will remember that recently, Phyllis from Diamond Card Crafts generously donated a Mandala Board for one of my readers.  The winner of the gift was Cheryl  and the other day I received this lovely message.....

"Hi, Eileen - I have finally found some time to play with the Mandala Reflections Board and I am having so much fun with it! The first thing that came to mind was to use it to make some quick thank you notes to use next Christmas. I always get a little tired of crafting after making nearly 100 Christmas cards plus dozens of gift tags. So, here's a picture of the quick thank you notes I made - so easy, and the Mandala Board gave them a little extra pizzaz!

The next card I made was a baby card. I debossed a strip of paper and then swiped the strip with a pink inkpad. Then I made an envelope and used the Mandala Board to give it that exta special touch. Here's a couple of photos

I made the decorative strip for the baby card out of a left over strip of white cardstock. What a great way to use up scraps!! Also, after I embossed the envelope, I gently rubbed the embossing with a little shimmery pink chalk for emphasis. I love the way it turned out.

Thanks again. The board is great and I know I will use it often. I don't have a ton of crafting tools so it will be a prized possession! Thanks Cheryl, I'm so pleased you are enjoying using this great aid to crafting and I know Phyllis will be delighted to see you are using her board and coming up with some fab ideas.  Since today is Friday, I'm going to enter both cards in my FFG. 

Draw for a Mandala Reflections Board

As promised the other day, due to the generousity of Diamond Card Crafts I have a free draw for you of one of their boards.  This is the Mandala Reflections Board......

The Reflections board was designed to be used with card, paper or parchment allowing you to make beautiful cards, toppers and tags. Now you can make stunning paper crafting projects by adding layers and dimension.  There are 26 shapes on the board, it's easy to use and you can either emboss straight on to your card or round a stamped image.

The board will be highlighted on Create and Craft's Paper Clinic on Monday morning in their 11am to 1pm. show.  This is a card was made by Phyllis the owner of DCC on a previous C&C show and illustrates how effectively you can use the board.

I think that if you like matting and layering and don't have the dies you need, this board is a brill alternative.

Diamond Card Crafts - Mandala Reflection Board

I was a little disappointed with C&C this morning, I don't think they showed you just how versatile this product is, so I've done a brief tutorial on how to use this board.....

you place your image upside down on the embossing side of the board, this way you can move the image about to find the shape that suits is best.

having found your shape you turn the board over and tape the image in place

I embossed this shape, but instead of cutting round the image, I used a ruler cutting from point to point.

  with cut and dry foam and a piece of card, I inked the edges

Mounted onto my card it looks as if the image is layered.
