On my desk on last week's WOYWW I had a label 2 die cut on which I had watercoloured with Inktense pencils an image from the EI Townhouse Stamp themeplate. Having done to a reasonable, but not entirely satisfactory colouring job, I looked the shape and thought...."now What"! I could not come up with a design that looked right with the shape....so....knife in hand......holding breath.....I cut across the top and bottom of the die cut and ......
and I had a new shape
this new shape allowed me to stamp a scene onto a strip of card, matching up the tree and bush behind the house so that my new shape could be lifted on foam pads to give some dimension to the scene. I like my new shape and think it could be very useful to ring the changes with the Label 2 dies - Wonder if any of the other labels can be changed?.....yet another challenge!
Hope you like this idea, and if you use it - perhaps you would let me know so I can pop over.

just had to say I always stop by when you post, but don't leave comments - until now! I love the new shape and how you coloured the image then turned it into something far more interesting!

WOW, how clever. Think I may be using this in the future.
Wow Ikki, how fabulous is that! It never ceases to amaze me what ideas you come up with. I don't seem to be able to think outside the box. I have this set of dies and have never thought to do anything else with them. I just love this idea. This card is stunning, as all your cards are.
what a brilliant idea.
Hi Ikkie, what a great idea! Looks very nice on that card. Love the design. About the 'cutting'machines, it seems that Tim Holtz has a new one coming, also A4 and electric! You can use all kinds of dies and comparatively with the 'Trouvaille' cheaper(this one is 190,euro)I am already saving, LOL, bye Miranda
Oh ikki, you are a star! I have labels 8 and sometimes my images are too big for the dies, now I can play in a different way :)
*hugs* Heather x
Ikki, a stunning card. I do not have these dies, but I am sure I could adapt this technique also with other dies. I like your embossing of the neew home as well.
Thanks for commenting on my blog about the Marianne dies. Nothing worked, hinestly I tried everything and contacted Marianne in NL. She was very helpful and agreed that the butterflies are beautiful, but a pain in the neck for cutting. She sent me (for free!) another die (a beautiful circle die) and that worked much better.
Great idea thanks for that. Will give it a try.
You never cease to suprise me!!!

This is so lovely and what a wonderful idea Ikki. I love your colouring too.
hi ikki
after reading this post earlier it helped me in a little problem i had tonight
i wanted to use a mega nestie around a image, the most suitable was too long but too narrow turned,
remembering your post i cut out the image using the perfect size then took a bigger and twisted it so i therby cut the sides but not the top and bottom, you might also be intersted to see what i have done with the marrianne butterfly i have,
i have looked at your other postings on the marrianne die and im hoping to give the stencil one a try, i think its fab.
your blog is so educational for us not so clever peeps lol keep up the good work.
wow thanks for that! gorgeous card too!!
