Hi

Hi, Thanks for dropping by.

My name is Eileen but to friends in the card making world I'm known as 'ikki'. (which is pronounced I-KEY) From where or how this came about I'm not sure - it just got shorten from my original craft name of Ikemo by various friends along my crafting way! I started crafting whilst recouperating from an accident, and from my first attempts with peeloffs and paint - I was hooked! Now my passion is my BUG! and now BEADING!

In the Cupboard you will find ideas, news, tips and techniques to help you get more from this fab little machine. So come in - join the fun and Cuttle with me!

USA - Atlanta 2008

Hi, Mr. Blogger seems to have done something to my blog and the pages have changed!  Is this just me?

However, not to be thwarted......I shall continue with everything crossed!!!

As you will have gathered from my infrequent posts, crafting has been on the back burner for some time now.  I have reached a state of not knowing just what I want to do ????  Since resigning from CB, I did some beading which I enjoyed greatly and loved buying beads.  I now have a bracelet or necklace or earrings to match every piece of clothing in my cupboard!  AND, many more waiting to be strung!!

In the hope of finding inspiration, I joined Barbara Gray's monthly club at Clarity Stamps.  Now I love and admire Barbara's work, but sadly even her newsletter and stamps have failed to produce any crafting activity from me.  I will continue to watch and wait and see if something happens in my head.

Watching is something I seem to be good at these days!  I have been glued to the box and found C&C's programme on Serif digital crafting interesting.  After months of dithering, I decided to buy Craft Artist and have discovered an absorbing pastime.  I have thousands of pictures stored on my PC (bet you are the same) and very rarely look at them.  So I thought I would attempt to take a few of them and try to capture some of the memorable moments of our past holidays - you know the things I mean - an event, place, people that you don't want to forget for the pleasure you got from being there and meeting them.

At the moment I'm working on a 2008 holiday in the USA.  We first flew to Atlanta - a experienced a wonderful and very enlightening three days in this vibrant city.  We arrived on a Wednesday - and it was the last of the city's Wind down Wednesday concerts.  Free in the park!  You know how the word FREE attracts - of course, we had to go and see what this was all about.   Having ventured into the arena would you believe right in  front of a stage of musicians, we practically ran down the middle aisle and found a seat on the back row.  Looking around we discovered that we had invited ourselves to a weekly concert supported by the black community of Atlanta and we were to only two white faces there.  A lady promptly got up from her chair and introduced herself and asked where we were from - she said we were welcome and that we were now her guests.  Looking round we saw that not only was it a music concert, but a party with tables covered with food and drinks.  We were to say the least embarrassed at our ordacity to invade their party, BUT we were made so welcome that the evening was a real moment to treasure and so Phyliss and friends if you should be a crafter and read this - a great big THANK YOU and this is my scrapping page so I'll never forget ....

Hope you are all warm and dry.....

Craft Artist is a fabulous programme but of course you need lots of time to sit down and just play to discover its huge capabilities. I'm pleased to see you are enjoying it and I just love the story of your gatecrashing the party - great to have a page to remind you. Take care

I've just logged in to find blogger has changed - it's their new format and I don't like it - much the same as I have avoided the new Facebook timeline styles - I don't like that either!!!!

I also have Craft Artist Platinum and find it very useful.

I'm still making greeting cards and am enjoying using the new Spellbinders dies and embossing folders I bought recently.

That's a lovely page you have produced to keep the memory fresh and alive. You do realise there is one huge problem once you start using Craft Artist? It's extremely addictive and you'll be wondering where the time has gone. :-)

I suspect I may have just commented on your two first pages at DaisyTrail, assuming there isn't somebody else using the same name as you? :-)

Regards,

Karen x
