Hi

Hi, Thanks for dropping by.

My name is Eileen but to friends in the card making world I'm known as 'ikki'. (which is pronounced I-KEY) From where or how this came about I'm not sure - it just got shorten from my original craft name of Ikemo by various friends along my crafting way! I started crafting whilst recouperating from an accident, and from my first attempts with peeloffs and paint - I was hooked! Now my passion is my BUG! and now BEADING!

In the Cupboard you will find ideas, news, tips and techniques to help you get more from this fab little machine. So come in - join the fun and Cuttle with me!

70th birthday

I was asked to make a card for a special 70th birthday and this is what I came up with.....

On cream hammer card, I stamped in Versamark and heat embossed with a silver pearl powder.  The leaf dies are Marianne, the butterfly is from NS and the sentiment was PC generated and then cut out with a Nestie Label 4.

I like to use a heavyweight textured card and have found that to add more texture and interest I can use stamps - Glenda's in particular are good because of their large swirly nature which can be twisted this way and that and end up looking like you've used a number of different ones instead of one!

I thought you would like to see the insert of the card.  The verse is lovely and really useful - feel free to use it.

Sorry I have been such a bad blogger - life, pc problems and internet connections are causing me somewhat of a headache!

So glad to see your post. Your card is beautiful and as I need to make a 70th birthday card soon, the inside verse will work great and is most appreciated. Hope life is easier, internet is tamed and headache is gone very, very soon! Sending you warm wishes and good vibes. Cheryl

Hi Ikki.
We all seem to be struggling with internet connections and especially blogger connections at the minute. maybe there are just too many of us clogging up the system!
Your card is lovely. Being in my sixties, and the youngest of eight, I have had to make quite a few of this sort of card, and it is not always easy to think of something new. I think your card is perfect for the occasion and very beautiful. The verse is excellent and I may well make use of it (perhaps with 80 in place of 70!), so thanks for that. Kate x

Such a lovely card- I'm inspired to have a go at doing some flowers tonight for a 30th anniversary card I am making. Just getting the hang of my Cuttlebug and starting to build up my die stash! Linda H x

What a beautiful card Ikki. I'm positive the recipient will be thrilled and the giver will be so proud to be handing it over knowing there won't be another like it.

Beautiful use of Chocolate Baroque stamp in the background and soooo effective.
